Acceso abierto en Argentina: una propuesta para el monitoreo de las publicaciones científicas con OpenAlex

This study proposes a methodology using OpenAlex (OA) for tracking Open Access publications in the case of Argentina, a country where a self-archiving mandate has been in effect since 2013 ( Law 26.899, 2013). A sample of 167,240 papers by researchers from the National Council for Scientific and Technical Research (CONICET) was created and analyzed using statistical techniques. We estimate that OA is able to capture between 85-93% of authors for all disciplines, with the exception of Social Sciences and Humanities, where it only reaches an estimated 47%. The availability of papers in Open Access was calculated to be 41% for the period 1953-2021 and 46% when considering exclusively the post-law period (2014-2021). In both periods, gold Open Access made up the most common route. When comparing equal periods post and pre-law, we observed that the upward trend of gold Open Access was pre-existing to the legislation and the availability of closed articles in repositories increased by 5% to what is estimated based on existing trends. YGEP: An Integrated Web Platform for Genomic Evaluation and Intelligent Breeding in Yak

Background The yak ( Bos grunniens ) is an essential livestock species in high-altitude alpine ecosystems, serving key roles in meat, milk, and wool production as well as ecological maintenance. However, traditional yak breeding systems face several limitations, including fragmented herd data management, inefficient phenotypic collection, missing pedigree records, and high technical barriers to applying genomic technologies. These factors constrain the widespread application of modern genetic evaluation methods in yak breeding programs. Description We developed the Yak Genomic Evaluation Platform (YGEP, https://yakbreeding.swun.edu.cn/en/ ), an integrated digital system for yak genetic selection and herd management. YGEP integrates three core analytical modules: pedigree reconstruction, genotype imputation and genomic breeding value estimation. Benchmarking on 706 yaks showed that GBLUP achieved a prediction accuracy of r = 0.96 for cannon bone circumference (CCB), and KBeagle reached 84.0% imputation accuracy with the combined reference panel. Polymorphisms in CALCRL and MPC1 Genes and Their Associations with Growth Traits in Tianzhu White Yaks.

Single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) may contribute to variation in economically important body traits in yak, but variants near calcitonin receptor-like receptor (CALCRL) and mitochondrial pyruvate carrier 1 (MPC1) have not been characterized in Tianzhu white yak. We evaluated two downstream SNPs in 536 yaks (351 females and 185 males; 2-6 years old) using polymerase chain reaction amplification and Sanger sequencing. Associations with body height, body oblique length, chest circumference, and body weight were analyzed separately using general linear models adjusted for sex and age. The CALCRL gene chr 2:140178268 A > T locus was associated with body weight (p = 0.001). Individuals with AA and AT genotypes had significantly greater body weight than individuals with the TT genotype. The MPC1 gene chr 10:98419837 C > T locus was associated with body height (p = 0.002), chest circumference (p < 0.001), and body weight (p < 0.001), but not body oblique length (p = 0.072); CC individuals generally showed greater values than TT individuals. Fatal encephalitis caused by Shamonda virus Europe 1 (SHAV-EU1) in a patient with a severely weakened immune system, France, 2026.

New Shamonda virus clades (SHAV-EU1 and SHAV-EU2) emerged in Europe in summer 2026, primarily affecting cattle. We report the first human infection with SHAV-EU1: a French patient with a severely weakened immune system developed fatal encephalitis in September 2026, 1 month after their allogeneic stem cell transplantation. Metatranscriptomics detected SHAV-EU1 in cerebrospinal fluid, confirmed by RT-PCR. Biopsies from central nervous system showed high viral loads. Investigations revealed SHAV-EU1 in serum, respiratory and stool samples at least for 2 months before encephalitis onset.

Yak (Bos grunniens) is a unique bovine species native to the Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau. Yak rely on their long hair to survive cold and snowy conditions at high altitudes. Flank hair or skirt hair is among the symbolic features that distinguish yak from other bovine species, yet the cellular and genetic basis underlying this unique trait remains unexplored. In this study, by comparing the transcriptomic data of skin tissues from the flank regions of adult yak and closely related low-altitude taurine cattle (Bos taurus), we identified 2521 differentially expressed genes (DEGs) in the flank hair of yak. Among them, fibroblast growth factor 21 (FGF21) is upregulated 10.3-fold in the flank hair follicles of yak. Functional experiments using primary cultures of dermal papilla cells demonstrated that treatment with recombinant FGF21 protein significantly increased the proliferation rate of yak cells. Immunofluorescence assays revealed significant increases in the percentage of PCNA+ and Mki67+ cells after FGF21 treatment. Temporal foraging strategy of lactating beef cows grazing native subtropical grassland differing in herbage allowance and intake.

We study the effect of herbage allowance (HA, High HA vs. Low HA, 5 vs. 3 kg DM/kg BW respectively) on temporal foraging strategy during lactation (40±12 d after calving) in two years using 34 cows equipped with automatic behavior recorders during herbage intake assessment. Herbage mass (HM), and its chemical composition were assessed, while daily grazing (GT, min/d) and ruminating time (RT min/d) were monitored and expressed relative to herbage intake (DMI) in kg/cow/day. The number of feeding stations (FeSt) per minute and bites/FeSt were recorded by direct observation for 30 min/d in two to four cows per plot for two or three consecutive days. Data analysis using MIXED model with HA as fixed and block as random effect was performed using the plot as the experimental unit. Cows in High HA increased the DMI by 1.3 and 3.7 kg/cow/d in years one and two respectively and the greater DMI could be partially explained by access to greater HM in both years and by grazing behavior at FeSt. Cows in the High HA group showed a tendency toward more selective foraging behavior, with an increase in FeSt/min (P = 0.09) and a decrease in bites/FeSt (9 vs. 13 ± 2; P = 0.08), suggesting enhanced …

L'ELEVAGE DU YAK EN ASIE CENTRALE

RESUMELe yak domestique, Bos gr-unniens, est un boviné à longs poils et à queue touffue élevé en Asie Centrale, dans les zones situées entre 3500 et 5000 mètres d'altitude.Son aire de répartition correspond schématiquement aux régions montagneuses qui s'inscrivent entre les longitudes 70° à 115° Est et les latitudes 27° à SS° Nord, c'est à dire du Pamir à l'Ouest jusqu'à la région du lac Baikal à l'Est. En Mongolie à la latitude la plus septentrionale de l'aire considérée il descend jusqu'à 1500 mètres d'altitude.En égard à son rôle central dans la vie des populations essentiellement pastorales d'Asie centrale, l'élevage du yak apparait comme un révélateur puissant et un intégrateur efficace des systèmes écologiques des zones d'altitude d'Asie.Nous présenterons ici succintement, à partir de précedentes publications, les caractéristiques du yak, le fonctionnement des systèmes d'élevage et l'organisation spécifique du pastoralisme dans des milieux extrèmement contraignants.

Production de viande de yak en Chine

Le yak est un ruminant qui vit dans des conditions extrêmes des montagnes d’Asie Centrale. Plus de 90% du cheptel mondial de yaks est situé dans les territoires chinois. Les produits issus du yak (lait, viande) et les fonctions des élevages de yaks (traction, énergie, etc.) sont nombreux et sont étroitement liés à la vie quotidienne de la population humaine locale. La viande de yak représente la principale ressource alimentaire en protéines et la ressource la plus importante en termes de revenus économiques pour les éleveurs. La productivité de l’élevage de yak est très faible en raison de ressources alimentaires restreintes et du retard en amélioration génétique et en techniques d’élevage. L’augmentation de la demande de viande et la sédentarisation des élevages ont entraîné une grave dégradation de la prairie et menacent gravement l’alimentation des animaux. Malgré les contraintes réglementaires pouvant restreindre la valorisation des produits, la mise en place et le développement d’une indication géographique ou d’un signe officiel de qualité pour la viande de yak pourraient garantir une valeur ajoutée pour les produits carnés de yak et limiter le volume de la production, et de …

The yak is a ruminant which lives in harsh conditions in the mountains of Central Asia. More than 90% of the world’s total yak populationare currently herded in Chinese territories. Products from yaks (meat, milk) and functions of yak farming (workload, energy, etc) are numerousand closely related to the daily life of the local human population. The yak meat is the main source of protein and the most important economicincome for farmers. The productivity of yak is very low due to the limited feed resources and the delay in genetic improvement and livestockpractices. The increase in demand for meat, and the settlement of the herds have led to a serious deterioration of the grassland and threat seriouslythe animal feed resources. Despite regulatory constraints which may restrict the exploitation of yaks, development of a geographical indicationor of an official quality label for yak meat could guarantee added value in meat products and limit the volume of production, and therefore reduceovergrazing while supporting the meat yak supply chain.

Aspectos jurídicos del accidente del Yak-42 en 2003

En los últimos años en España, al igual que en otros muchos países, se han cometido abusos y negligencias en numerosos casos importantes que han afectado a la historia del país y a su sociedad. Este trabajo pretende lograr que no caiga en el olvido el fatal accidente del Yak-42 y que el sufrimiento y la impotencia de las víctimas, que perdura a día de hoy, se siga teniendo presente para poder entender cómo no se deben hacer las cosas. Se centrará el tema principalmente en los aspectos jurídicos del caso, analizando profundamente los procesos judiciales que tuvieron lugar y las sentencias que se dictaron, todo ello sin pasar por alto un recorrido histórico, político y social que es imprescindible para entender de una forma completa el trabajo.

El periodismo de investigación ha sacado a la luz algunos de los casos más polémicos de la vida política española. Uno de ellos es del Yak-42, un accidente aéreo, ocurrido en 2003, en el que murieron 62 militares y cuyas causas todavía no son claras. El presente trabajo ha analizado la cobertura periodística que se desarrolló acerca del siniestro, entre el 26 de mayo y el 1 de junio de 2003. La investigación se sustenta sobre la teoría del Framing y se ha servido del análisis de contenido para conocer las diferencias y similitudes de la cobertura de cuatro diarios; dos regionales (Heraldo de Aragón y El Periódico de Aragón) y dos de ámbito nacional (El Mundo y El País). Así, se ha puesto el foco tanto en aspectos formales como de contenido con el objetivo de conocer las directrices de distintas coberturas periodísticas.

Le rôle du lait de yak dans le développement des montagnes Qilian dans le plateau tibétain en Chine

L'aménagement durable des pâturages est un challenge important pour la Chine étant donné l'énorme étendue de pâturages (environ 6,5 millions de km2 soit 2/3 du territoire, principalement dans le nord et l'ouest), et son rôle dans l'approvisionnement en eau, dans l'érosion des sols et dans la conservation de la biodiversité. Ainsi, depuis les années 70, des politiques publiques spécifiques ont été lancées afin de réduire l'impact de la gestion des troupeaux sur la dégradation des pâturages. Les montagnes Qilian sont situées dans la partie nord-ouest du tableau tibétain, sur l'ancienne "route de la soie". La taille moyenne d'un troupeau géré par une famille est de 40-80 yaks et de 150-200 moutons. La gestion des troupeaux repose sur le déplacement des pâtures d'hiver-printemps dans les basses montagnes (2500-3000 m) aux pâtures d'été-automne dans les hautes montagnes (3200-4000 m). La production de lait est la principale fonction du troupeau de yaks, pour la consommation des ménages et pour les revenus issus des produits laitiers (beurre, yaourts,...). Regulatory Role of Adrenomedullin in Hypoxic Adaptation of Yak Subcutaneous Preadipocytes.

High-altitude hypoxic environments constrain yaks' survival capacity and metabolic adaptability. Subcutaneous adipose tissue helps yaks withstand cold and resist hypoxic stress, and ADM participates in cellular stress and metabolic regulation. To explore the regulatory role of ADM in the hypoxia adaptation of yak subcutaneous preadipocytes in high-altitude environments, we established three cell culture groups (normoxia, physiological hypoxia, and hypoxia). We further systematically examined cell proliferation, apoptosis, adenosine triphosphate (ATP) production, and lipid metabolic markers, and we performed transcriptome sequencing to reveal their regulatory effects. ADM exhibited a bidirectional regulatory effect: Low doses alleviated hypoxia-induced cell damage and restored energy and lipid synthesis, whereas high doses, in conjunction with hypoxia, activated multiple metabolic pathways and altered cellular energy-supply patterns. Under physiological hypoxia, cells emphasized metabolic regulation, while under hypoxia, they prioritized stress defense.
